GCSE Grants
Ages 16+
Requirements for professional apprenticeships and internships vary depending on the employer. However, most employers will require students to have at least 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English and Maths. The Mukisa programme will fund exam retakes to support students within reach of the minimum grades required for a professional apprenticeship. To apply you must satisfy the requirements listed below:
Must have been a student who qualified for free school meals.
Must already have a 5+ grade in 2 or more GCSE subjects (this can include english & maths).
Must have been predicted a 5+ grade in GCSE subject you are seeking to retake.
Must have achieved less than a grade 5 in the GCSE being asked for retake .
Must have been within 1 grade of achieving the 5 in subject seeking retake.
Committed to maintaining mentorship for at least 1 month post-retake.
